Gemeinsam mit Freunden gründete er 1989 die Agape-Gemeinde in Almaty. Heute ist er der Hauptleiter des gesamten Netzwerkes der Agape-Gemeinden in Kasachstan
Er ist Mitinitiator des pfingstlich-charismatischen Dachverbandes Pentecostal Alliance sowie der Evangelischen Allianz in Zentralasien. Er wird im In- und Ausland als Brückenbauer zwischen Nationen und Denominationen geschätzt. Yuri ist Mitinitiator
der Central Asian Prayer Conference, die seit 2006 jährlich in Almaty stattfindet und Leiter aus der gesamten Region (Usbekistan, Tadschikistan, Kirgistan etc.) zusammenführt. Yuri ist verheiratet mit Irina.
