About the venue

St. Matthäi ist eine denkmalgeschützte neugotische Backsteinkirche im Lübecker Stadtteil St. Lorenz-Nord und dient als gottesdienstliches Zentrum der gleichnamigen evangelisch-lutherischen Kirchengemeinde. Der Bau entstand 1899/1900 nach Plänen des Hamburger Architekten Hugo Groothoff im Stil des sogenannten Eisenacher Regulativs und zeichnet sich durch ein breites Hauptschiff, ein schmales Seitenschiff sowie farbige Fenster aus. Neben Gottesdiensten finden im Kirchenraum auch Konzerte und Gemeindeveranstaltungen statt.
